Do you do fly screens? Yes, for every door and window
It's the first thing most people ask us, and the answer is yes.
We fit fly screens and insect screens to:
Ranch sliders
French doors and bifolds
Front and back doors
Every kind of window
Most families start with the kitchen and the bedrooms. You want the window open while you cook, and the bedroom open at night, with the flies, moths and mosquitoes kept outside. That's what screens are for.
Cockroaches are a different problem, and for some homes they're the main one. They come in low, under doors and around frames. You don't need to work out where. Just mention it, and we'll check every opening at floor level while we're there.
Comparing quotes? Fair enough. Here's what to look for in ours.
David and Roman, the two owners, both come out to measure, and they pick the right screen type for each opening. We travel across Auckland for the jobs other firms won't bother with, Roman leads every install, and every screen carries our 2-year full warranty with no call-out fee.

Which fly screen suits your window or door?
You don't need to know the difference before we arrive. Picking the type is what the free measure is for.
The same window measures differently for a magnetic, hinged, sliding or retractable screen. Which one fits depends on:
The window or door, and how it opens
Your handles and hardware
Any blinds or curtains already in place
How often you use the opening
How much room there is for the frame
Fly screens are the most involved range we sell, and one house often needs more than one type. That's normal.
Retractable fly screens
For a door you walk through all day, a retractable (roller) screen is often the first thing we look at. Pull it across when the door's open, then let it roll away when you want the view back. There's more on our retractable fly screens page.
Pleated fly screens
Wide openings such as bifolds and French doors suit pleated mesh. The mesh folds into its frame when the screen is open, so the doorway stays clear.
Straight mesh is the other option, and we can show you both when we visit.
Hinged and sliding fly screens
A ranch slider usually takes a sliding screen that runs on its own track beside the door. For a front or back door, a hinged screen door swings open and shut like the door itself.
We think about who uses the door. If a parent finds a heavy door hard to manage, or the grandchildren run in and out all afternoon, that shapes what we suggest.
Fixed and magnetic fly screens
Windows you open for air but rarely reach through can take a fixed screen that stays put all year.
Magnetic fly screens are the simplest bug screens we fit. There's no track or hinge, and they lift off by hand when you want the window clear.
Fly screen doors and fly screens for windows
Doors and windows each have their own shortlist. See fly screen doors and fly screens for windows for the detail.
On either, you can also choose:
Pet-proof mesh for homes with dogs and cats
One-way vision mesh
Frames powder-coated to match your existing joinery
Some standard colours at no extra charge
Can I keep my existing blinds?
Usually, yes. A blind inside the frame can take the space a screen needs, which changes what fits. We check at the measure and choose a screen that works around the blind you already have.
Why we measure every fly screen in person
We know a number over the phone is what you're after. Here's why we won't give you one we'd have to change.
A size sent by text can't tell us:
Which screen type will fit the opening
Whether a blind is in the way
Which frame colour suits your joinery
Whether there's room to fix the frame
Get it wrong and you pay for it: a second visit, a second wait, and the windows shut on the warm nights you bought the screens for.
So David and Roman come to your home. They look at each opening, ask how you use the room, and take the time to get it right.
We bring the showroom to you. Mesh and frame samples are matched in your own light, against your own joinery, because what looks right in a showroom often doesn't at home. A showroom visit is available by appointment too.
Standing in the doorway also catches what a text never would. One customer had lizards getting in under a door, and Roman adapted a part normally used on blinds to close the gap at no extra charge.
The measure is free and there's no obligation. Call 09 441 9455 to book it, or send us a message.
How long do fly screens take?
Allow:
3 to 4 weeks from deposit to install
5 to 6 weeks before Christmas
Standard colours are the fastest. A custom powder-coat colour adds time outside our control, and we'll tell you at the measure if your choice affects the date.
October and November are our busy months, and the weeks count from your deposit, so book your measure early. If you want screens up before Christmas, count back 5 to 6 weeks and call 09 441 9455.
Looking after your fly screens, and our 2-year warranty
Some screens need a clean every 3 to 4 months, and most people never get round to it. We show you how to look after yours on install day, and follow-up maintenance and servicing is available on every screen we fit.
We also repair existing screens:
Re-meshing worn screens
New handles and hinges
New wheels on sliding doors
Re-sizing screens that no longer fit
More on our repairs and servicing page.
Every fly screen comes with our 2-year full warranty. It covers:
Parts
Labour
No call-out fee
No labour charge for warranty work
If something goes wrong, we come and fix it. The detail is on our warranty page.
What our customers say about their fly screens
Dozens of our 260 five-star Google reviews are from insect screen customers. Here are three.
"David was honest, prompt and knowledgeable during the initial consult. He knew exactly how to best fit the insect screens based on the windows or doors. Also considered the aesthetic of the screens by colour matching to the best of his ability. Roman did the installation and had extremely high standards which was reflected in his work." (Karen, February 2021)
"Top-notch quality insect screens plus hands-on owners showing up to measure and do the actual installation themselves is the fail-safe recipe for success. Now, we can have fresh outside air flowing through the house anytime it is too warm, without having to worry about insects and other pesky bugs coming in uninvited." (Omar, October 2023)
"From my initial contact, David & Roman have been fabulous communicators & clearly know their products, I never felt pressured ... The end result for the insect screens & roller blinds is just lovely, & we were also tutored in how to best maintain them." (Rachel, June 2026)
Most of our customers are repeat clients or came to us through a friend.
Fly screen questions
Can you give me a price from my sizes?
Fair question, and the answer is no. The same window measures differently for magnetic, hinged, sliding and retractable fly screens, and your joinery and blinds change what fits. The free measure gives you a real price, not a guess that changes later.
Call 09 441 9455 to book your free measure.
Do you have a showroom?
Yes, by appointment. We usually bring the showroom to you, with samples in your own home and light.
How long do fly screens take?
3 to 4 weeks from deposit to install, or 5 to 6 weeks before Christmas. Standard colours are faster than a custom powder-coat colour.
What warranty do you give?
2 years full, parts and labour, with no call-out fee and no labour charge. If something goes wrong, we come and fix it.
Can I keep my existing blinds?
Usually, yes. Blinds and joinery limit which screen fits, so we check when we visit and choose a type that works with what you have.
Are your fly screens made in New Zealand?
Yes. Every fly screen and insect screen we fit is locally made in New Zealand, then measured and fitted by us. Frames are powder-coated to match your joinery, and we settle the colour with you at the measure.
Do you install them yourselves?
Yes. David and Roman measure every job, and Roman leads every install. You deal with the same two people from the measure to the install.
