INSIDE MOUNT ROLLER BLINDS / REVEAL FIT
Roller blinds are usually fitted inside the window frame. This is known as an inside mount or reveal fit.
Measure the width first. It’s a good idea to measure the width in three places along the window: top, middle and bottom. Use the narrowest width. Please provide us with the exact measurements to the nearest millimetre (mm), taking NO deductions.
Our factory will make specific deductions from your measurements to provide clearance for your roller blind to fit in within the window frame including brackets , so the fabric will be smaller by 35mm .
Measuring the drop: Measure from the top of where you will place the roller blind i.e. full height of the recess (distance D). The blind drop is not as crucial as the width as our factory will build in some tolerance to ensure that the roller blind at least covers the window when fully lowered. We usually add 250mm extra on drop.
OUTSIDE MOUNT ROLLER BLINDS / FACE FIT
Fitting the roller blind outside the window frame is called an outside mount or face fit. This is useful when there isn’t enough space for the head rail to fit inside the frame.
Please keep in mind the blind will come to fit inside your measurements including brackets so the fabric width measurement would be smaller by 35mm.So we sugest adding 70mm on your openning width which you wish to cover ,for fabric to overlap the sides of your window if possible with normal roll option.
Measure the width first. Measure the full width of the window frame, or if the window is bordered by an architrave, take your measurements from either the inside or outside of the architrave (see diagram on left).
If there is no frame or architrave, add a further 40 to 70 mm either side. Ideally, for aesthetic reasons, distance B should not be greater than the width of the window sill outside the recess (distance C).
Measuring the drop: Measure from the top of where you will place the roller blind i.e. full height of the window frame (distance D+E). The blind drop is not as crucial as the width as our factory will build in some tolerance to ensure that the roller blind at least covers the window when fully lowered.
